Can I Keep Koi & Goldfish Together?

The answer is a qualified YES. As in a "community" aquarium, varieties of goldfish and koi may be kept in the same environment. Remember, however, that ANY fish will eat a smaller fish if he can and koi may mistake smaller goldfish for food. Adding goldfish to a koi pond is usually not a problem if the goldfish are appropriately sized.
